The tour was both interesting and interactive. During the tour, they asked if anyone would volunteer to be a tester at the end, so I took the challenge. At the end of the tour, they laid out 3 shots, one of American Whiskey (Jack Daniels), a Scotch and a Jameson for the testers of the group. We were then asked to drink each one and give our opinions. I actually preferred the scotch, but obviously voted for the Jameson! We received certificates at the end, proving that we were certified Jameson taste testers. After hanging out by the bar for a while, we headed out to eat with Marisa, our favorite place Mexico to Rome in the Temple Bar area. We actually ran into someone who noticed a Siena sweatshirt, and knew a friend of ours. We enjoyed the early bird special, so I got a Bruschetta app as well as an awesome pasta dish. I turned in early, excited to see my friend Megan, who was flying in early in the morning.
Lessons learned from the Jameson Factory:
1. Don't do it early in the morning
2. Eat before
3. Volunteer to be a taste tester, you get more of your money's worth, trust me!
One of The Chandeliers
Left- The old functioning cask drying room now covered by the floor of the Jameson Bar
Right- The aging process of Jameson, with the top left being the most aged and as a result evaporated
